Movie synopsis: A tragic melodrama about a rickshaw man, Matsu Mifune, loves a married woman named Toshio. After her husband dies, Matsu helps to take care haer and her son. Toshio feels grateful of what he has done, but to preserve chastity towards her husband, she refuses his love.
